Kabompo farmers set for farmers’ marketing season

Hundreds of farmers in Kabompo district have started taking their maize and other grains to the Food Reserve Agency -FRA depots for this year’s marketing season.

A check by ZNBC at the main FRA depot found farmers weighing and repackaging their grain to FRA standards.

And Farmers talked to have expressed gratitude to government for increasing the floor price for both Maize and Soya beans.

EVANS MINGANJA a soya beans farmer revealed that this was the first time kabompo is having a market for Soya beans produce adding that farmers are thankful for the development.

He has encouraged other farmers to diversify and ensure that they grow crops that they can sell at a competitive price to the agency .

MR. MINGANJA has However appealed to government to consider introducing a market for Cassava in the district.
