Judgment has been postponed to a later date in a matter where the Law Association of Zambia -LAZ- is seeking interpretation on whether or not Speaker of the National Assembly NELLY MUTTI was in order to eject Members of Parliament whose election results hav
been nullified.

The delivery of the Judgment which was earmarked for today by the Constitutional Court has been postponed to a date to be communicated.

This is in a matter where LAZ has asked the Constitutional Court to interpret articles 73 and 72 of the Constitution that hinge on the determination and interpretation of the Parliamentary petitions.

On Tuesday, December 7th, the Speaker of the National Assembly ejected nine members of parliament whose election results were nullified by the High Court.

This followed a point of order raised by SOLWEZI East Member of Parliament ALEX KATAKWE.

However the Constitutional Court yesterday quashed the nullification of the election victory of MKUSHI North Member of Parliament CHRISTOPHER CHIBUYE of the Patriotic
Front-PF- who was one of the affected parliamentarians.

Other PF member of Parliament ejected from the National Assembly but with Parliamentary Petition Appeal Judgments pending are JOSEPH MALANJI of KWACHA, BOWMAN LUSAMBO of KABUSHI,MUTOTWE KAFWAYA of LUNTE and SIBONGILE MWAMBA of KASAMA Central.

Others are LUKE SIMUMBA of NAKONDE, ALLAN BANDA of CHIMWEMWE, TAULO KABWE CHEWE of LUBANSENSHI and, KALALWE MUKOSA of CHINSALI.
