Sports Journalist Augustine Mukoka has been handed a three months provisional ban by the Football Association of Zambia Ethics Committee. According to a press statement by FAZ Communications Manager Mwazi Chanda and made available to the ZamFoot Crew, Mukoka is one of three people handed three months provisional bans.
The other two are former FAZ Committee Member Pivoty Simwanza and Albert Mainsa.Simwanza, Mukoka and Mainsa were handed 90-day bans for circulating FAZ documents that were illegally obtained in contravention of Article 22 (2) of the FIFA Code of Ethics.
The Ethics Committee has also fined Napsa Stars coach Mohammed Fathy and Afrisport Executive Director Gabriel Kaunda. Fathi was fined K2, 500 and reprimanded for attacking the association and its partner SuperSport while Kaunda was fined K5, 000 for convening an illegal meeting without FAZ’s consent.
The Ethics Committee has also thrown out Veteran Football Admistrator Simataa Simataa’s appeal against his life Ban. Simataa was banned from all
football related activities for unethical conduct contrary to Article 13 (3) of the FIFA Code of Ethic 2012 Edition by the FAZ Ethics Committee in May last year.

ETHICS COMMITTEE BANS THREE INDIVIDUALS
The Adjudicatory Chamber of the Independent Ethics Committee of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has provisionally banned three football officials and fined two others following its sitting of March 13, 2019.
Ethics Committee chairperson Kephas Katongo announced in a statement that FAZ had provisionally banned former FAZ Committee Member Pivoty Simwanza, Albert Mainsa, Augustine Mukoka (journalist) and fined Napsa Stars coach Mohammed Fathy and Afrisport Executive Director Gabriel Kaunda.
Simwanza, Mukoka and Mainsa were handed 90-day bans for circulating FAZ documents that were illegally obtained in contravention of Article 22 (2) of the FIFA Code of Ethics.
The trio were handed punishment in absentia after failure to appear before the committee. Katongo stated that the trio will be summoned before the Ethics Committee again during their bans.
The Napsa Stars coach was fined K2, 500 and reprimanded for attacking the association and its partner SuperSport. Fathy admitted the charge and pleaded for leniency. Kaunda was fined K5, 000 for convening an illegal meeting without FAZ’s consent.
Katongo also said former City of Lusaka Football Club 2000 PLC General Manager Simataa Simataa’s appeal to review his life ban has been thrown out. Simataa had appealed his ban on account that the Ethics Committee could not adjudicate over his case as he was not an official of any club. However, the Committee found that he had been City of Lusaka Football Club 2000 plc General Manager at the time of being summoned by the judicial body.
The Committee however, did consider Simataa’s right to be heard under Article 71 of the FIFA Code of Ethics and advised him to tender his evidence with regards to the charge of circulating illegally obtained documents.
