“It’s K154m, Not $154m”

August 13, 2019August 13, 201911The Ministry of Health has clarified that the Bangweulu Regional hospital will cost 154-million-Kwacha contrary to assertions by NDC leader Chishimba Kambwili that it will cost 154 million dollars.Ministry of Health Spokesperson Abel Kabalo says it is unfortunate that some sessions of society have deliberately decided to quote the cost of the hospital in dollars.In a video circulating on social media and some media, Mr. Kambwili alleged that the hospital cost of the hospital has been inflated.On Friday President Edgar Lungu laid a foundation stone for the Bangweulu regional hospital where he announced that it will cost 154 million Kwacha.The Bangweulu regional hospital will provide health services to Luapula, Muchinga, Northern provinces and some parts of Copperbelt .Meanwhile New Congress Party leader Peter Chanda has lodged another complaint to police against National Democratic Congress Consultant Chishimba Kambwili over his continued attacks against President Edgar Lungu.Speaking after delivering his complaint at Lusaka Central Police, Mr Chanda said Mr Kambwili’s behaviour is meant to incite Zambians to rise against a legitimately elected government.He said the recent misrepresentation of facts about the Bangweulu regional hospital is not only defamatory of President Lungu but the Zambian voters as well.And PF Member of the Central Committee Kebby Mbewe has called for the arrest of Dr. Kambwili for the continued insults directed to President Lungu.Mr. Mbewe said this in an interview with ZNBC News today in Lusaka .The Consortium of political parties and NGOs last week reported UPND Mazabuka MP Garry Nkombo for presenting a forged document to Parliament and Dr. Kambwili for allegedly defaming President Lungu.
