Ireen Lungu continues her fine form in front of goal as Buffaloes return to League action

The female Computer, Ireen Lungu has continued her fine form In Front of goal as she netted her sixth goal of the 2022 FAZ Women’s Super Division on Wednesday. 

Lungu scored the second goal in Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club’s 3-0 demolition of Green Eagles at Crested Crane Academy. 

Hellen Chanda put the Zambia army sponsored outfit in the lead in the 32nd minute with a fine glancing header off a beautiful Memory Nthala cross to open the lead on their return to league action. 

Lungu doubled the lead five minutes later with a cross-range headed goal after a Theresa Chewe shot ricocheted off the crossbar and into her path. 

Prior to her departure for the CAF Women’s Champions League away in Morocco, Lungu had five goals to her name and went on to create four and score one in the Zambia army sides’ disastrous outing at the continental showpiece. 

Maylan Mulenga completed Buffaloes’ win in the second half with a ‘tame’ freekick that somehow went through the Eagles keeper.

Before the League kicked off Lungu emerged as the top goal scorer at the COSAFA Women’s Champions League qualifiers with five goals as she aided Buffaloes’ qualification to Morocco. 

The win means Buffaloes have 12 points to their name after four straight wins and are yet to concede a goal. 

Lungu has also scored six goals in four games finding the back of the net in all four matches.
