INTENSIFY COVID-19 AWARENESS

Local Government Association of Zambia -LGAZ President Christopher Kang’ombe has urged councils to intensify public awareness to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.Mr Kang’ombe says councils have a critical role to play in sensitizing communities on the dangers posed by the COVID-19.He has praised government for proactively putting in place measures meant to prevent further spread of the pandemic.Meanwhile, the Mayor of Kitwe has advised that the Joint 64th   LGAZ Annual Conference and 17 th Alliance of Mayors and Municipal Leaders Initiative for Community Action on AIDS at the Local Level -AMICAALL General Assembly, has been postponed.The General Assembly was scheduled for 21st to 24 th April 2020 in Lusaka and that new dates will be announce at an appropriate time.This is according to a statement released to ZNBC News by LGAZ Director Information and Communication Mpatanji Namumba.
