The Shepolopolo dream of playing the final of the 2018 Cosafa Castle Cup has been shattered by the indomitable lionesses of Cameroon who beat them 1-0 in the semifinals.

Zambia had gone into the final match with three wins including a group stage victory over Cameroon.

A 78th minute goal by Ngo Edith dealt Zambia a devastating blow ending their fine run at the tournament.

Cameroon will now meet the winner of the other semifinal between South Africa and the Crested Cranes of Uganda.

Zambia will now compete for bronze in the third and fourth playoff on Saturday.

Beauty Mwamba will now focus on preparing her team for the 2018 Africa Cup of Nations in November.

Zambia defeated Lesotho 2-0 before shooting down Cameroon 1-0 and finished group matches with a 3-0 win over Mozambique.

The two sides found themselves playing each other again after Cameroon qualified as the best second placed side from across the three groups.
