By Martha Banda:Several structures built illegally have been demolished in Lusaka in a move aimed at stopping flooding in the city.This was in an operation conducted in the early hours of this morning by the Lusaka City Council.Th structures demolished include those built along Kalilikili stream and make shift stalls on top of drainages outside UTH.And Council Public Relations Manager George Sichimba has confirmed this development to ZNBC News, saying over 4 structures have been brought down.Mr Sichimba says other stakeholders have embarked on the clearing of blocked drainages in the City to address the floods being experienced.On Friday, Lusaka Town Clerk gave a directive that all structures constructed on the Mtendere stream and on top of drainages be demolished.
