IGNORE THOSE POLITICIZING PLIGHT OF FLOOD VICITIMS- ECL

President Edgar Lungu says government will continue giving support to people who were affected by disasters such as floods until they are able to stand own their own.

The Head of State is happy that the process to build houses for flood victims in Mumbwa District will start in the next few days.

President Lungu says the affected people across the country will continue to receive relief food and other support because government has a duty to help the poor in society.

President Lungu said this when he inspected a camp for flood victims in Mumbwa District of Southern Province.

And President Lungu has urged the Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit -DMMU- to ignore individuals who want to politicize the plight of flood victims.

He said the DMMU is so far doing fine in responding to the needs of the people.

And President Lungu said government will find money to complete the trades school in Mumbwa District stating that he is happy with the progress made on the project.

He said in other provinces were Members of Parliament were serious such projects have been completed.

And DMMU National Coordinator Chanda Kabwe said government has found land were houses for the victims will be built.

Mr. Kabwe said building materials such as iron sheets and cement have already been secured.

He said DMMU is not only providing help to affected parties in Mumbwa but other parts of the country.
