Ignore the illegal Mukula Trade story

Hon. Zulu says it is a hoax created by enemies to drive people away from president Lungu and his administration.

(Lusaka -09 – 12 – 19) – The ruling Patriotic Front (PF) has urged the people of Zambia not only to ignore but also condemn the ‘illegal Mukula trade story’ implicating the first family saying it is a ploy designed by the enemies to drive people away from president Edgar Lungu ahead of the 2021 presidential and general elections.
PF Member of Paeliament (MP) for Malambo constituency one Maccebi Zulu told journalists at the PF Interactive Forum held at Longacre Lodge that president Edgar Lungu is too busy with many developmental agendas to get involved illegal activities such as illegal Mukula trade.
Hon. Zulu is of a considered view that the constitution making process is one of the many aactivities besides the infrastructure development littered across the country making president Lungu busy.
Now that, president Lungu has made strides in making refinements to constitution, Hon Zulu observed, the enemies of progress have c
ome up with the illegal Mukula Trade story to detract president Lungu from pushing ahead with his works, including the finalisation of Bill 10 into law.
He said this will not work as all formalities are already in place to have Bill 10 transformed into law.
Come February, Hon Zulu maintained, Bill 10 will be taken to parliament for consideration and the enemies that have put in their resources to foil it will be put to shame.
Hon. Zulu is confident that the PF will marshal a 2/3 majority requirement to pass the law and this will be with the help of well meaning and progressive UPND MPs.
He disclosed that the ruling party is in talks with the opposition UPND MPs to see the possibilities of working together for the good of the constitution making processes.
He claimed that 75% of those spoken to have expressed interest to work with the ruling party to pass the law.
Hon Zulu further assured the people of Zambia that the PF has no intension to change anything from the bill that is before parliament for consideration.
He said the government already put in place the process to protect the content.
“All the people need to do for now is to trust their MPs because they have a duty to provide only the best to their electorates.”
He said the MPs are in parliament to represent the interest of those who elected them.
And to walk out of parliament when they are supposed to working is an act of betrayal to the people that elected them.”
He said the MPs are supposed to present the agenda given to them by their electorates in the house of laws and not to walk out.
He further advised the people to be on the look out of the subtle Civil Society Organisations masquarading as messiah and yet they are up to no good.
He recalled that the people today does not have credible bill of right to protect them because the which was prepared was foiled by the same CSOs when they caused the referendum to fail.
Unless the people of Zambia are willing to live with protectiveaws, Hon Zulu warned, the have an option to keep on trusting the people that sabotage the bill of rights when the campaigned against the referendum in 2021.”
