ICT KEY TO ECONOMIC TRANSFORMATION-MUTATI

Science and Technology Minister FELIX MUTATI says the Information Communication Technology -ICT- sector is a key driver for economic transformation.

Mr. MUTATI says Zambia has the capacity to expand the economy through innovation.

He was speaking during the 15 years anniversary of Net One and the launch of various products and services by the ICT company.

The Minister said Net One has done Government proud through its initiative to market the country through all products and services developed by Zambians.

Meanwhile, Commerce, Trade and Industry Minister CHIPOKA MULENGA said the world of science and technology has continued to evolve and Government has chosen not to remain behind.

Meanwhile Education Minister DOUGLAS SIAKALIMA advised schools to take advantage of the innovation to enable pupils and students to be conversant with technology.

And Special Assistant to the President for Finance and Investment JITO KAYUMBA said Government is determined to tap into such Technologies.

And Net One Group Chief Executive Officer BEJOY NETTIKADAN said a lot of work has been put in by staff to grow the company.
