I love to score – Patson Daka

Zambia national team forward Patson Daka believes it’s a nice feeling to do what he loves which is scoring goals. The former Kafue Celtic striker was speaking in an interview with Sky Sports Austria following Redbull’s 3-1 win over Wolfsberger AC in their opening match of the 2020/2021 Bundesliga season.

Daka who netted the second goal at the Lavanttal Arena in Wolfsberg described the Stadium as difficult place to visit having played to a 2-2 draw the last time they made a visit to the Lavanttal Arena.

“Last time it was a draw, it’s always difficult here. Winning today was important, as was my goal. It’s always nice to do what you love and I love to score. That’s my job, ” he said.

The goal was assisted by captain Andreas Ulmer who refused to take the praise for his brilliant ball saying the 2017 CAF young player of the year did very well to be able to score that goal.

Thanks to his performance on Sunday was named in the team of the week and his goal is up for the Sky Sports Austria Bundesliga round 1 goal of the week.

Daka has been prolific this year having scored 9 goals in his last eight games and 12 in his last 13 Austrian Bundesliga league games. He will be looking to continue his prolific form from last season that has earned him popularity and offers from a number of top European clubs.

The 21-year-old helped Salzburg win a double of the ÖFB Cup and the Bundesliga scoring 24 goals in the league and 27 in all Competitions with 12 assists.
