Former Zambia national team head coach Honor Janza has part ways with Eswatini giants Mbabane Swallows barely a year after he joined Umkhonto Kashaka.

According to a media statement by the club President Bheki .R.S. Lukhele accessed by the ZamFoot Crew, The Zambian gaffer requested to be released from the terms of his contract which still had a year to run.

“This statement serves to formally announce that Mbabane Swallows Football Club has amicably parted ways with its Coach, Honor Janza. Coach Janza has, through a letter that has been received by my office, requested that I release him from his contract with Mbabane Swallows Football Club due to the COVID-19 situation. The Coach had signed a two (2) year contract with the team, starting from 2019 and ending in 2021. He has requested me to release him from the terms of that contract which still had a year to run.”

Following this request, I hereby announce that I have graciously agreed to release Coach Janza from the terms of the contract with Mbabane Swallows Football Club. For the record, I state that the ending of the contract is mutual, and is a result of the Coach’s request.

Lukhele was also quick to thank Janza for the services rendered to the club during his tenure at the Prince of Wales Stadium.

“As President of Mbabane Swallows Football Club, I wish to thank Mr. Janza for his services to the Club in the last season, even though we did not finish it due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I also wish the Coach well in his future endeavors.

Honor Janza has stated in his letter to me that he enjoyed his stay in the country. The Coach has thanked the entire Mbabane Swallows family, including fans, for treating him well during his stay in Eswatini. He says he will always be a Mbabane Swallows supporter and will have a soft spot for the country and its people.

I wish to assure all our stakeholders that we will sign a new Coach, as well as more players. I promise that Mbabane Swallows Football Club will be ready when the 2020/2021 football season resumes.”

The CAF instructor joined Umkhonto Kashaka last year in August after leaving Red Arrows. He has been linked with a move to CAF envoys Napsa Stars as Technical Director.
