By Cecilia Zyambo:Government says it is concerned with United Party for National Development-UPND- leader Hakainde Hichilema’s tendency to blame tribalism for his low popularity and galvanizing the whole tribe against the people of Zambia.And, Chief Government Spokesperson Dora Siliya says the people of Zambia will not sit quiet and allow politicians who always raise allegations of tribalism which they can not substantiate.Ms. Siliya says contrary, it is public knowledge that the UPND has continued to hand pick leaders on tribal lines.In a statement to ZNBC News, Ms. Siliya who is also Information and Broadcasting Services Minister advised Mr. Hichilema to desist from dragging his tribe in his personal ambitions.She said government has been quick to condemn tribalism and violence whenever it occurs adding that the UPND is very selective in this regard.Ms. Siliya said that it is in public knowledge that the UPND has continued to hand pick leaders on tribal lines adding that the criticism on Mr. Hichilema is not that the whole tribe is tribal.She said people of Zambia have cherished their unity in diversity, and no one should be allowed to disrupt it for their personal gain.
