The Higher Education Authority and The Health Professions Council of Zambia says health practitioners are eligible for registration as a practitioner, if they successfully clear the Professional Licensure Examinations.

This is for any applicant that has completed their training in an accredited health learning programme offered at a duly registered higher Education Institution by HEA and whose qualification is recognised by the Zambia Qualification Authority.

HEA Acting Director General Dr MARTIN MUSHUMBA and HPCZ Acting Registrar Dr MUHUMPU KAFWAMFWA say stakeholders have been encouraged to continue to abide by all regulations and standards required.

In a Joint statement to ZNBC News, Dr MUSHUMBA and Dr KAFWAMFWA said this is in the interest of creating a functional health care system.

They say HPCZ and HEA remain resolute to constantly engaging on various matters relating to the quality of training for health professionals, especially that this inadvertently impacts the quality of health care services in Zambia.

The Institutions have also pledged to continue to collaborate in resolving the challenges that affect quality and standards in the training of health proffessionals.
