HANDBALL TEAM MAKES TO IHF-AFRICA CHAMPIONSHIP

By Chiko Mukoka:The Zambia Girls Under 17 Handball National Team has qualified to the International Handball Federation -IHF- Africa Championship to be hosted in Guinea next month.This is after they beat Mozambique 30-21 in the final of the IHF Zone six and seven qualifiers at the Olympic Youth Development Center -OYDC.But the Under 20 girls National team failed to qualify after they lost 31-25 to Madagascar.Coach James Mbewe is happy with the qualification and now targets to win gold in Guinea and qualify to the 2020 IHF World Championship set for Macedonia.And Handball Association of Zambia President Bwalya Banda has dedicated the trophy to First Lady Esther Lungu for supporting the girl child in sport.Banda says his association has also honoured ZASPOFA Patron Peter Makembo with a medal of recognition for his support towards sports.
