Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development Permanent Secretary, MAAMBO HAAMAUNDU has urged local authorities and stakeholders handling Constituency Development Fund-CDF projects not to engage in corruption.

Mr. HAAMAUNDU warns that performance and results of projects obtained through bribes and corruption are usually below par.
Speaking to ZNBC News, Mr. HAMAUNDU said corruption makes it difficult for government to live up to the expectations of the people and improve their livelihoods.

He has also urged citizens to stay away from corrupt activities as they hinder the development of the country.

He said there is also need to develop a culture of preventing corruption both in government and the private sector in order to respond to the aspirations and needs of the people.
