GTAZ projects rise in price of maize to K100 per 50kg

The Grain Traders Association of Zambia (GTAZ) has projected a  rise in the price of maize to K100 per 50Kg bag given the demand of the grain on the market.

Executive Director Chambuleni Simwinga says his association has observed that there is slow supply of maize on the Zambian market.

Mr. Simwinga has told QTV News via telephone that this explains why buyers such as millers are advertising  higher prices for the commodity in the media.

He states that this is what will in fact send confusion on the market in terms of pricing.

Mr. Simwinga says this is also why the GTAZ is expecting the price of maize in Zambia to shoot up.

He says grain traders are currently buying a 50 KG bag of maize between K80 and K85.
