Zambia Army sponsored side Green Buffaloes is conteplating to go against their traditional policy of not signing foreign players. Buffaloes is known for not signing players from other countries due to security scares. Green Buffaloes have struggled to find good local players to replace the likes of Christopher Katongo, Dadley Fichite, Jimmy Mumba, Noel Mwandila, Clive Hachilensa the list is endless but to name a few.

Buffaloes boss Bilton Musonda confirmed to the ZamFoot Crew after the 2-1 win over fellow Betway sponsored outfit Kitwe United that they were pondering on the idea of signing foreign players.

“That’s on the table , We waiting on the command to gives us a go ahead. We have asked so they might say yes or no. We are part of the Zambian league and can’t be the only team which has closed doors to foreigners but with the support we have from the command now I think it will be agreed and we will have one or two foreign players,” Musonda said.

Recently, Red Arrows who another military sponsored side who went against the policy and signed Kenyan goalkeeper Ian Otieno and Cameroonian defender Elvis Bissong. Arrows separated the team from the service to pave way for foreign players and it has paid off, they are one game away from playing continental football.

Signing foreign players is not cheap but if GBFC are to manage paying the huge sums of money required to get quality players, It means that they will have to make some changes to their structure of the club before implementing this policy.

Good Foreign players are available but this calls to dig deep into the pocket because competition is stiff among clubs.
