GOVT WANTS KAZUNGULA BRIDGE OPERATIONAL

Housing and Infrastructure Development Minister, Vincent Mwale says Zambia wants the Kazungula Bridge across the Zambezi River at the border with Botswana to become operational as soon as possible.

Mr. Mwale says the Kazungula Bridge is one of the achievements the government has recorded in realizing its vision of transforming Zambia from a land locked to a land linked country.

He was speaking in Kazungula today when government officials from Zambia and Botswana conducted a joint final inspection of the Kazungula Bridge.

At the same event, Botswana Minister of Transport and Communications Thulangano Segokgo said the two countries are in the process of establishing the Kazungula Bridge Authority-KBA.

He said the authority will be mandated to form an organizational structure for the management, operational and maintenance of the bridge.
