GOVT VACCINATES 33,000 CATTLE IN KASENENGWA

(ZANIS) Government has vaccinated over 33,000 cattle in Kasengwa District against Food and Mouth Disease -FMD.

District Livestock Coordinator ANTHONY CHUPA says 33,428 cattle were vaccinated against FMD in the second quarter of this year against the targeted 50,000.

Mr. CHUPA adds that the remainder will be vaccinated once the vaccines are made available.

Speaking during the District Development Coordinating Committee meeting, Mr. CHUPA said his office targets to vaccinate each cow at least twice annually to prevent the spread of the disease.
