Last year in July government banned harvesting, transportation, trading and exporting of the Mukula tree species until further notice.
But Lusaka based politician, Gift Kasaro wants the Minister to consider regulating the trading and the export of the Mukula tree in raw form.
He has told QTV News that doing so will encourage investors locally and internationally to venture into value addition of the timber.
Mr. Kasaro says this will in turn provide employment for the local people, grow the economy and enhance economic diversification.
