Govt to erect 169 communication towers

Government says it will this year erect 169 Communication towers across the country in a bid to improve mobile phone services and further improve service delivery.

Technology and Science Minister FELIX MUTATI says the installation of communication towers in rural areas will enhance communication and development.

Mr. MUTATI said this during the ground breaking Ceremony’s of one of the three Communication towers which will be installed in Masha ward of Kanchibiya district.

And Water development and Sanitation Minister MIKE MPOSHA said the communication tower which will be set up in the area will contribute to enhanced governance and early response to the challenges that the communities may be faced with.

Education Minister DOUGLAS SYAKALIMA assured the community that Government will continue to create a conducive environment for all children to attain education.

Meanwhile Kanchibiya Member of Parliament SUNDAY CHANDA has thanked Government for listening to the cries of the people in Masha ward who have since time immemorial not had access to communication network.
