Govt releases K1.3 billion CDF

Government has released K1.3 billion for all constituencies under the 2023 Constituency Development Funds -CDF.

Local Government and Rural Development Permanent Secretary MAAMBO HAAMAUNDU says the money was released on Friday last week and brings the total amount disbursed so far to K3.3 billion.

Mr. HAAMAUNDU says with the latest disbursement, each constituency has now received a minimum of K21. 4M out of the K28M budgeted for this year.

In an interview with ZNBC News this afternoon, Mr. HAAMAUNDU said over K4 billion  was budgeted for under CDF in this year’s national budget and so far,K3.3 billion has been disbursed.

Meanwhile, Mr. HAAMAUNDU has urged Small and Medium Enterprises -SMEs to ensure that they utilise the loan component of CDF.
