GOVT NODS ECL ELIGIBILITY RULING

Chief Government spokesperson Dora Siliya says government is pleased that the Constitutional Court has ably interpreted what constitutes a Presidential term and that President Edgar Lungu qualifies to contest the Presidency in 2021.
In welcoming the ruling, Ms. Siliya says the court’s verdict brings the matter to its logical conclusion.
She has told ZNBC News in a statement that the decision of the Constitutional Court is final and cannot, therefore, be appealed against.
Ms. Siliya appealed to political parties to resist electioneering until the right time comes.
She said now is the time to unite and work for the prosperity of the country.
