GOVT KEEN ON PRIVATE SECTOR GROWTH

Southern Province Minister, CORNELIUS MWEETWA says the government is keen on promoting private sector led growth and intends to transform Zambia through a well-integrated transport system into a regional transport hub.

Mr. MWEETWA says this is being done through investments in multi modes of transport infrastructure that includes roads, aviation, inland waterways and railway system network.

The Southern Province Minister was speaking in Livingstone , during the official opening of the tripartite council of ministers and senior officials meeting on the Walvis Bay Ndola –Lubumbashi development corridor.

Mr. MWEETWA says the Walvis Bay Ndola –Lubumbashi development corridor is not only important for trade and transport logistics but also for the promotion of tourism in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and Angola through the Kavango and Zambezi River basins.
