Govt invests $50m in data storage facility

By Muzipasi Mkandawire-Technology and Science Minister FELIX MUTATI says government has invested over 50-million United States Dollars in infratel to be the host for data storage in the country.

Mr. MUTATI says the state of the art equipment which has been installed meets international standards.

He says there is no need going forward for the corporate world to store their data abroad at a huge cost.

And the minister is hopeful that the number of fraud cases in mobile money transactions will be sorted by the mobile service providers.

Mr. MUTATI says because of fraud cases, innocent Zambians are being robbed of their hard earned income.

The minister said this after touring infratel, MTN and Airtel data storage facilities in Kitwe .
