Govt has created over 65,000 jobs

By Brian Mwale

UPND Consultant MARK SIMUUWE says the UPND government has created over 65,000 jobs for youths.

Mr. SIMUUWE says government has directly created close to 50,000 jobs in the civil service and has supported youths to create jobs for themselves through empowerment and a conducive investor climate.

He says the over 40,000 jobs created in the education and health sectors are unprecedented.

Mr. SIMUUWE says that youths have also been employed in the defence and security wings.

He adds that more jobs are yet to be created by the immigration department and health and education workers.

And Mr. SIMUUWE has told ZNBC News that Zambia should take advantage of the demand for maize in the region and increase production.

Meanwhile Mr. SIMUUWE said Zambians should know that not everyone can access loans at the same time from the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission -CEEC- despite the increased allocation.

He has also advised UPND members complaining to give government time to put everything in place as it strives to deliver to all citizens and create opportunities for all.
