By Hannock Kasama
Zambia is expected to reap over one billion dollars from the 22 year concession of the Lusaka-Ndola Dual carriageway whose construction and rehabilitation will be done under the Public Private Partnership- PPP.
Infrastructure and Urban Development Minister, CHARLES MILUPI says proceeds will come from the toll fees that will be shared between government and the concessionaire- Macro-Ocean Investment Consortium in line with the PPP Act.
Mr. MILUPI says the concessionaire will obtain credit for the project from the National Pension Scheme Authority -NAPSA- and Workers Compensation Fund Control Board.
He said this when he delivered a Ministerial Statement in the National Assembly on the Lusaka-Ndola Dual Carriageway -Rehabilitation Concession Agreement.
Meanwhile, Mr .MILUPI said a painstaking tender procedure was followed before Macro-Ocean Investment Consortium was picked as a preferred bidder.
