Government will not interfere in the Kamanga Vs Kalusha, Sports Minister Mawere says

SPORTS Minister Moses Mawere says the deadlock on the nomination for the CAF executive committee position should be decided according to the FAZ constitution.
Addressing a press conference after having met FAZ boss Andrew Kamanga and former president Kalusha Bwalya at his office, Mawere said the matter will be settled according to the constitution.
Mawere said government would not interfere in the matter as it was a football decision.
He said that there were statutes that guided how the nomination should be done and hoped that the constitution will be followed.
Asked by journalist on whether an integrity test would be critical in deciding on the matter, Mawere said that would depend on the FAZ statutes.
“They (FAZ) have their own procedures on how they conduct these issues. We want them to follow the FAZ constitution, all the statutes which covers the nomination of the candidate, they have to follow that procedure,” he said.
“I am sure in their statutes are clear on how one can be supported. If they reach a deadlock I am sure there must be a decisive vote which they can use to make a decision.”
Mawere said the two parties held their meeting in a cordial atmosphere and agreed to settle the matter through an executive committee meeting.
The nomination for the CAF executive committee membership close on May 31.
