Government Optimistic Of Maize Bumper Harvest Despite The Challenges Faced

By Matthew Kanganja

Minister of agriculture Michael Katambo is optimistic of a maize bumper harvest this year despite the challenges faced.

The 2019-2020 farming season has been characterized by the outbreak of army worms, late and non-delivery of farming inputs as well as droughts and floods.

But Mr Katambo says he has visited parts of the country inspecting the crops and the future looks many good.
He told phoenix news that the situation is good especially in areas that received farming inputs on time.
