A twelve-year old girl of Livingstone has stopped school after developing a respiratory tract infection.

Doctors at the University Teaching Hospital UTH who operated on Mapalo Muyunda in 2017 inserted a pipe to help her breathe because her windpipe was blocked.

Mapalo who experiences difficulties in breathing has left school and she can no longer play with friends for fear of damaging the pipe.

Her mother, Linda Chilopa is asking for help from the government and well-wishers to take Mapalo to South Africa for specialist treatment.

Ms. Chilopa has explained that her husband died in a road accident three days after Mapalo was discharged from hospital.
