Lusaka, Zambia24 — (27-05-2024) – Green Buffalo Football Club is navigating a turbulent season, prompting GNFC Chairperson Colonel Humphrey Sindawa to suggest that the club is considering scouting for new players beyond Zambia’s borders. This move aims to infuse the team with new skills and perspectives, addressing the performance issues that have plagued the season.

The team’s performance has fallen short of pre-season expectations, according to Sindawa. The club, which had anticipated significant improvement over last season’s results, has instead encountered difficulties in several key areas.

“We had high expectations to perform much better this season compared to the last,” Sindawa admitted. “Unfortunately, there have been issues in one or two areas of the team,” he stated.

Despite these setbacks, Sindawa expressed confidence that the worst of the struggles are behind them. “We are pleased that those struggles are no longer hindering us,” he said, suggesting that recent adjustments might have begun to stabilize the team’s performance.

As the club looks to regain its footing, management is preparing to explore the transfer market vigorously. “We plan to explore the market to address the areas we’ve identified as needing improvement,” Sindawa explained. This strategy may involve scouting for talent beyond Zambia’s borders, aiming to infuse the team with new skills and perspectives.

“We acknowledge that this season is very challenging,” Sindawa continued. “However, we are committed to seeking solutions to improve our performance.” While Green Buffalo Football Club is currently facing a difficult season, Sindawa said the management is determined to take proactive steps. He believes that pursuing new talent and implementing strategic changes will help overcome the challenges and fulfill the high expectations set for this season.

Meanwhile, Green Buffalo Football Club and its supporters celebrated a crucial victory after a lone goal against the struggling Forest Rangers during the MTN Super League week 33 at Edwin Imboela Stadium on Sunday. Chilimba Moonga secured the win by beating Forest Rangers FC goalkeeper Daniel Mutshinemu with four minutes remaining before the final whistle.
