Fuel prices go up

The Energy Regulation Board -ERB – has increased the pump price of Petrol and diesel Low Sulphur Gasoil -LSG effective midnight of January 31st, 2024.

The price of Petrol has been increased to K34.19 ngwee per litre from K29.98 ngwee, while Diesel Low Sulphur Gasoil has been increased to K32.15 ngwee per litre from K29.96 ngwee.

The price of Jet A-1 fuel has been increased to K32.69 ngwee from K29.29 ngwee.

The Price of Kerosene has remained the same at K20.44 ngwee per litre.

ERB Board Chairperson REYNOLDS BOWA says the depreciation of the Kwacha in January 2024 has resulted in an increase in the domestic wholesale and pump prices of petroleum products with the exception of Kerosene.

Mr. BOWA says the price of Kerosene has been maintained because of sufficient national stocks.
