Four people die on the spot in road accident

Four people have died on the spot in a road accident that happened on the Great North Road near 20- Miles area.

Police Spokesperson RAE HAMOONGA says the accident involved a Zambia Army Toyota Land Cruiser and a Public Service Toyota Hiace minibus.

Mr. HAMOONGA says the minibus which was being driven from South to North was carrying about 18 passengers of which four died on the spot after sustaining fatal injuries.

He says two of the four deceased have been identified as CHARITY CHILONGO aged 28 of Makeni Villa and JOHNSON MONDO aged 50 of Matero Chitanda.

Mr. HAMOONGA says the other two victims, a man and woman have not yet been identified.

The Police Spokesperson says the whereabouts of the driver of the bus CRESER CHULU aged between 30 and 35 is not yet known.

Mr. HAMOONGA said this in a statement to ZNBC News in Lusaka.
