Former U20 Coach Chilombo Dies

Former Under-20 National Team coach and Chipolopolo defender Hector Chilombo has died.

Chilombo died in the early hours of Thursday at the University Teaching Hospital where he had been admitted from Saturday.

The former Zambia international defender held several coaching jobs on the local front among them at Power Dynamos, City of Lusaka, Nchanga Rangers, Napsa Stars, Zanaco, Chilanga Heroes and Lumwana Radiants.

Chilombo led the Zambia Under-20 team to the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal.

He played for the Zambia national team in the post Gabon era and won the 1997 Cosafa championship.

Chilombo was part of the Chipolopolo squad that competed in qualifiers for the 1998 France World Cup.
