FNB unleashes ots new innovation

… Mwambo says the unveil bank on wheels will reach clients wherever they are across the 10 provinces

Lusaka (21-04-2023-Zambia24) – The First National Bank (FNB) in Zambia has unveiled the first-ever bank on wheels in Zambia, which is fully packed with mobile banking and was procured at the cost of K4 million.
FNB Head of Retail and Banking, Mwamba Musambo, said that the unveiled truck, which will house a bank in transit, is the summit of banking innovation aimed at making it easy for clients to keep their money safe.
She said the advantage of this facility is that people will not have to go to where the bank is located but instead, it is the bank that will follow them wherever they are situated across the country.
She said the idea of coming up with this facility was necessitated by the lack of manpower, which resulted in some areas not having FNB banking facilities. With the bank on transit in place, Musambo emphasized that it will reach people wherever they are across the ten provinces of Zambia.
She clarified that the truck does not move with cash on it for the security of the driver and the clients.
She said cash will only be available when the truck is stationary, and clients deposit their money.
“The facility is fully equipped with the facilities that clients will want to use, including two automated teller machines (ATMs), the manager’s office, a kitchen, and a toilet.”
