MATCH PREVIEWS

YASA – GREEN BUFFALOES

Yasa Queens is one of the stubborn teams to beat and from week 1 they were on song until they went down to Assembly and Arrows. Despite suffering two defeats in a row, Yasa are still a force to reckon with and Green Buffaloes should treat and take this game with the seriousness it deserves especially that they are playing away from home.

The Coach Mervis Nachinga drilled side will be banking on the services of Florence Kasonde, Melissa Mataba (who could start ahead of Ruth Ndala) and Thanda Onneil for goals upfront. Catherine Ng’ambi is expected to start in midfield alongside Tamara Chibamba and Christine Nyirongo.

The defensive line will be led by Patricia Lampi together with Luty Kamanga, Pezo Kakandu and Limited Mulenga while Anna Mukumbuta is expected to be between the sticks for the Helen Kaunda based outfit.

Green Buffaloes on the other hand is the only team untouchable and undefeated in the league this far and will aim at commanding the log standing with a win away at Yasa which will boost their morale as we reach the half way mark of the 2019 season which means they would want to finish first round on a high note.

Coming from a 2 – 1 away victory at Assembly, GBFC will hope they repricate that form in this tie and Coach Haluboono is expected to field in his best starting XI to deliver the best result for the Soldiers who have proved hard to beat in the last 5 years or so.

BAULENI QUEENS – NATIONAL ASSEMBLY

What a game this is going to be at Prince Takamado Football Ground in Bauleni. Assembly will be hoping to redeem themselves after going down two goals to one at the hands of Green Buffaloes last weekend but coming up against a Bauleni Side which is coming from back to back victories and have scored 7 goals in the last 2 matches should worry the Parliamentarians.

Bauleni will look up to the likes of Salome Phiri, Clara Musonda, Esther Banda, Diana Banda, Sherry Shamasumo, Mary Banda and Riba Musonda to yet again rise to the occasion and inspire the team to victory which is not going to be that easy against Assembly.

The Parliamentarians have all to play for and of course Grace Kamanga has been banging in goals for them, Elina Mbewe, Felistus Phiri, Dorothy Lungu, Florence Tembo, Donaria Simaundu and Norin Betani should Come to the party and deliver the much needed results for the Parliamentarians.

BUSA Queens are confident of picking maximum points especially after their Friday Training Session was visited by Shepolopolo star Barbra Banda who plays for Spanish side EDF Logrono to boost the former team’s morale and motivated them by donating some football jerseys ahead of the match against Assembly and Coach Tobias is optimistic the team will emerge victorious.

OLYMPIC FLYING QUEENS – LUSAKA QUEENS

Both teams are coming from defeats and haven’t been so impressive this season and going into this match they have managed only 3 points each. This game could go either way but the away team has a slight advantage over fellow strugglers.

LUYANDO FOUNDATION – PAMALAT

Luyando Foundation despite playing entertaining football need to find a winning formula. They are a team that scores at the same pace as they concedes. On the other hand Pamalat haven’t been consistent in collecting maximum points but coming up against Luyando who are also fighting for a victory will be a tough game for both sides who are coming from defeats last weekend and would want to make it up for their respective losses.

Any team can win this match and victory for Luyando will take them to 15 Points 1 behind Pamalat who can’t afford to lose this game. Luyando Coach Bernard Chisenga Mwape has declared his charges ready despite some injury concerns and some of his players absence away in chongwe taking part in the Coca Cola Games.

GREEN EAGLES – KAFUE CRANES

Fresh from a 3 – 2 victory over Luyando Foundation, Kafue Cranes face an uphill battle in Makeni against Green Eagles who last weekend won without kicking a ball and will be looking forward to welcome the Kafue based team at home who have proved to be so dangerous upfront with great scoring abilities.

NKWAZI – CHIPARAMBA BREAKTHROUGH SPORTS ACADEMY

Nkwazi will be at home playing host to Chiparamba Breakthrough who have a stern test in Chibolya. Nkwazi have been so strong this time around and going into this fixture they are on position 4 compared to Breakthrough who are on 11th. Without taking anything away from breakthrough this could just be a victory for the home team who will be counting on Towera Nkhata and Cecilia mwape to win it for them.
