FAZ women League: Buffaloes open two-point lead as Grace Chanda nets nine in Arrows big win

Green Buffaloes has opened a two-point lead at the summit of the FAZ Women national league while Grace Chanda scored an incredible nine goals to lead Arrows to a double figure win over weeping girls, ZISD Queens.

The FAZ Women national league entered week six of action this morning with six matches taking center stage across the country.

Log leaders Green Buffaloes Women football club welcomed youthful Bauleni United Sports Academy (BUSA), Queens, at the Green square ground in Arakan Barracks.

A goal in each half from free-kick specialist Lushomo Mweemba and skillful midfielder Irene ‘Xavi’ Lungu was all that the Zambia Army-sponsored side needed to edge BUSA Queens who had a better first half with their only opportunity of the match coming through from Tisilile Lungu who hit the upright with a long-range effort.

This win has taken Buffaloes to 13 Points and still undefeated while BUSA remains with 5 points and they will hope to pick up their pieces in the upcoming fixtures.

At Independence Stadium, Grace Chanda proved why she was the top goalscorer of the Olympic qualification tournament as she netted three hat-tricks to lead the Airwomen, Red Arrows to a 13-0 demolition of Zambia Institute of Development Studies Ladies, recording the biggest scoreline in the league so far.

At Hospice ground, YASA Queens edged Queens Academy in a seven-goal thriller. Thanda Onneila Mokgabo scored a brace while Michelle Abueng and Evelyn Mwamba chipped in with a goal each.

At trade fair ground, ZESCO Ndola Girls made easy work of Zambia police sponsored outfit, Nkwazi Queens 3-0 thanks to goals from Astrida Bupe, Thandiwe Ndhlovu, and Happy Pinto.

The win takes ZESCO Ndola Girls to third place on the log with 11 points two adrift of log leaders, Green Buffaloes.

In Mufulira, National Assembly recorded their first win of the season beating Mufulira Wanderers Queens 2-0 with goals from Donaria Simaundu and Musonda Chimfwembe.

The win takes the Parliamentarian Ladies to eighth place with seven points while Wanderers remain in 11th place.

At Nkana Stadium, Nkana Queens held Indeni Roses to a 1-1 draw. Noria Sosala leveled matters after Natasha Kapombo had put the hosts in the lead from the penalty spot.
