FAZ, AGGRIEVED PARTIES AGREE

By Wilson Mulinda:The Football Association of Zambia -FAZ- and lawyers of aggrieved parties have signed a consent judgement to withdraw pending football cases in the courts of law.Youth and Sports Minister Emmanuel Mulenga says the move is in line with the 10-day ultimatum given by World Football Governing body FIFA.Mulenga says Government, through his ministry looks forward to continuing working relations with FAZ, football administrators and fans for the development of the sport.Speaking during a signing ceremony of the document, Mulenga said his ministry has also followed President Edgar Lungu’s directive not to interfere in administration of any sport in the country.He said the aggrieved parties will withdraw all cases from the courts of law effective today July 10th, 2020.Mulenga also disclosed that the document ensures that FAZ will not proceed with elections until after the meeting to be chaired by FIFA.He said the outcome of the meeting shall be final and none of the parties will seek redress from a third party.
