Fashion Sakala scores in Rangers’ win

Zambian striker Fashion Sakala Jnr was on target on Sunday afternoon as he came off the bench to score the third goal for Glasgow Rangers in their 3-1 win over Livingston in a Scottish Premiership encounter.

Rangers new Manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst named one change to his side for his first Scottish Premiership match at Livingston on Sunday afternoon from the side which qualified for the knockout stages of the Europa League in midweek by defeating Sparta Prague at Ibrox, Scott Arfield came in for Steven Davis which meant Sakala was restricted to the bench again.

That also meant it was the same back five of Allan McGregor in goal with James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Calvin Bassey, and Borna Barisic in front of him. Arfield joined Glen Kamara and Joe Aribo in midfield, while , Ianis Hagi and Ryan Kent provided support to Alfredo Morelos.

And Rangers hit the mark from the word go needing just eight minutes to take the lead, Arfield Scotty with a brilliant chip over the keeper following a brilliant ball from James Tavernier.

The visitors were 2-0 up in the 16th minute thanks to a fine finish from Joe Aribo. The hosts however pulled one back at the half-hour mark through Anderson.

Gio then decided it was a time for a double change in the 73rd minute as Sakala replaced Ryan Kent and Nathan Patterson took the place of Ianis Hagi.

The Zambian needed just five minutes to head home a Tarvenier corner to seal a 3-1 win for Rangers.

The goal means Sakala has now scored five league goals including a hat-trick against Motherwell in a 6-1 win a month ago.
