Farmers happy with E-Voucher – Lubinda
Government says it will this year expand the electronic voucher system from 13 districts to 39 districts.
Agriculture Minister Given Lubinda told Power FM News in an interview monitored by Zambian Eye that the e-voucher system has empowerment many farmers in the districts where it was introduced.
Lubinda said plans to increase the number of districts follows calls from farmers to roll out the system countrywide.
The e-voucher System enables farmers to have access to subsidized agricultural inputs using electronic cards that are loaded with cash, in a timely manner.
The system further allows farmers to source their inputs directly from seeds producers and suppliers in the country, instead of using middlemen to distribute the inputs.
