FANS WANT SOLWEZI INDEPENDENCE STADIUM REHAB COMPLETED

Football fans in Solwezi District have called on the Football Association of Zambia -FAZ- to complete the rehabilitation of the Solwezi Independence Stadium.

This is after FAZ engaged a contractor to rehabilitate the Solwezi independence stadium eleven months ago but later abandoned construction works.

Some Football fans say they have been starved of home games as the home team Kansanshi Dynamos Football played the entire 2022-2023 football season away.

And Solwezi Mayor REMY KALEPA said that lack of proper infrastructure at the stadium affects the performance of football teams in the district due to lack of a training ground.

However, FAZ President ANDREW KAMANGA said the association is putting measures in place to ensure that the works on the stadium are completed before the start of next season.
