FANS IMPLORE FAZ, COUNCILORS

Stakeholders in the running of football in Zambia have proposed to Football Association of Zambia -FAZ and councilors to consider regulating the number of foreign players to be featured per game by football clubs in the country.
Zambia Sports Fans Association strong man Peter Makembo says this should be done quickly in order to stop the dwindling standards of Zambia football.
Makembo has told ZNBC sports that Zambia should emulate countries like South Africa who have regulated the number of foreign players used by clubs resulting in more locals having playing time.
He says this will further enhancing the performance of the national team.
Meanwhile, Makembo has described 2018 as the worst for Zambian football that saw all the national teams fail to impress the fans.
His hope now lies in the under 23 national team, ZESCO United and NKANA football clubs who are taking part in the Olympic qualifies and CAF confederations cup fixtures respectively.
Makembo has also thanked President Edgar Lungu and government for their commitment in supporting all sports disciplines in the country appealing for continuity with the same spirit.
