EXERCISE PATIENCE, HEART OF MERCY TELLS CHURCHES

Heart of Mercy Foundation has called on the church in Zambia to support Government’s efforts in curbing the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Heart of Mercy President Chongo Phiri says all restrictions given by the Ministries of Health and Religious Affairs to the church are not permanent but must be followed to save lives.

Reverend Phiri says Churches meeting in schools have raised a concern that they too should be allowed back in the classrooms, following the reopening of schools.

She says concerns from the Ministries of Health, Education and Religious Affairs on the matter are legitimate and that such churches should exercise patience.

Reverend Phiri told ZNBC News in a statement that following the evolution of the pandemic, the churches must continue praying that God heals the land.

She further said the restrictions in schools are meant to safeguard the lives of both pupils and teachers, adding that Government is exploring sustainable initiatives for Churches to come up with permanent solutions for places of worship.
