Evans Kangwa eyes helping Zambian football reach acceptable standards world over

Shamuel Football Club proprietor Evans Kangwa has set his sights on doing his part to improving Zambian football to acceptable standards the world over.

Kangwa was speaking after the official opening of Shamuel Academy’s clubhouse on Friday. Kangwa has also extended an open hand to the corporate world to come on board and partner with the club.

The Russian-based striker took to Facebook to urge the players to use the new facilities as a motivation to work hard and propel the club to achieve the goals set at the start of the season.

“Being a footballer myself I understand the importance of adequate rest, nutrition, and teamwork or togetherness in sports. The above is what we want to achieve with SHAMUEL ACADEMY’s new Camp House. From an atmosphere that allows for proper team bonding to a kitchen environment that allows for preparation of quality food ensuring our players’ physical, mental and psychological state are in an optimal condition at all times.

As SHAMUEL ACADEMY we understand the importance of progressive partnerships in the management and running of the game and as such we extend an open hand to the corporate world to come on board and partner with us. Remember it’s the grassroots that provide a strong base for our national team.”

To the players, I hope this is motivation enough to work extra hard and spur the Academy towards the goals we set at the start of the season.

“In conclusion, allow me to stress that the aim is to keep improving Zambian Football to standards acceptable throughout the world as well as to ensure continued growth and development of our football players.”

The Lusaka FAZ Provincial Division One side yesterday officially opened their camp house in Chilenje and 12 players are expected to move in.
