Erratic Water Supply Irks by Mulonga Water Chingola Mayor

Chingola Mayor Titus Tembo has expressed disappointment with the erratic water supply that has affected most parts of Chingola District for over five days now.

Tembo, whose council is a shareholder in Mulonga Water and Sewerage blew up after angry residents stormed his office seeking a solution.

However, Mulonga Water and Sewerage Company has disclosed that the erratic water supply being experienced is expected to continue until remedial measures are put in place.

Public Relations Officer Bright Mtonga said the Company has a challenge with raw water to run the water treatment plant which supply half of the District.

“The company is working in collaboration with other stakeholders to ensure the situation normalises by the end of September, 2018. Affected areas will experience erratic water supply during this period and a water bowser will be going round to mitigate the effects of the interruptions in all affected areas,” Mtonga said.

Mtonga has named the affected areas as Nchanga North and South, Chiwempala, Mulenga Police, part of Kabundi South, Chikola and Mupaka Drive.

Mulonga Water and Sewerage Company has been struggling to meet the supply demands of the most sought after commodity.
