ERB RECOVERS 310,000 LITRES OF ILLEGAL FUEL

The Energy Regulation Board -ERB- in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies has recovered over 310,000 litres of fuel from illegal fuel vendors.

The fuel is worth over 8.7 million Kwacha.

ERB Director General YOHANE MUKABE says this is since the commencement of the fuel marking program in 2018.

Speaking during at a media briefing in Lusaka, Mr. MUKABE disclosed that the Board has also recorded a drastic reduction in fuel failure rate from 21 percent in 2018 to about two percent by the end of 2022.

Mr. MUKABE said this in a speech read on his behalf by ERB Director Technical Services – ALLEN POLITO.

He said there is also notable increase in petroleum product quality compliance and drastic reduction in the uplifts of kerosene – a product which was being used to adulterate petrol and diesel in the past.
