EL urges Church to ‘diversify’

President Edgar Lungu has challenged the church to venture in income generating activities like agriculture to attend to the needs of their people.President Lungu says this will allow the Church to provide services such as education and health.The Head of state says the Church has continued to be a partner of Government in the alleviation of the many challenges that people face.He said this in a speech read for him in Lusaka today by National Guidance and Religious Affairs Minister Godfridah Sumaili during the launch of the New Evangelical Church in Zambia.And ECZ Deputy Bishop Reverend John Muyutu thanked the President for the financial assistance during the construction of the church.Reverend Bishop Muyutu said the President’s support to the Church demonstrates his dedication to the promotion of Zambia as a Christian Nation.He also thanked members of the Evangelical Church in Zambia for the support towards the construction of the New Church.
