EL CALLS FOR SINCERITY IN FIGHT AGAINST GRAFT

President Edgar Lungu says there is no sincerity in the fight against corruption in Zambia.
The President observes that the fight against corruption is being used for political gain.
He says the fight cannot be won when those in political positions are the only ones who are perceived to be corrupt.
President Lungu says corrupt people should be arrested regardless of whether they are politicians or not.
He further says the fight against corruption will only be won when everyone sincerely believes in it.
The Head of State was speaking at State House today.
Meanwhile, the President has cautioned media houses against inciting people to breach peace in the country.
President Lungu says he is concerned that some media houses are bent on inciting people to cause despondency.
He notes that some media houses whose licences were recently suspended were inciting people to rise against government.
President Lungu said this during a meeting with Zambia Congress of Trades Union-ZCTU- leaders at State House.
The President said while the media can insult him, he will NOT allow them to cause anarchy in the country.
The Head of State said his government will continue protecting media freedoms.
And ZCTU President Nkole Chishimba pledged his union’s commitment to work with government in improving the workers welfare.
